Just received the following response for an FOI request to Medway on 5th April with my calculations thats 55 days, just shows they really could not give a toss:

"Thank you for your request for information, received by email on 5 April 2012. Please accept my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I have sent your request to the appropriate service area and will get back to you as soon as they have given me the information. This will be under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and I hope to be able to complete the request within 20 working days.

We may have to apply exemptions to the information that you have requested which could mean that all of part of the information  you have requested may be withheld. There may be information that you have requested that will need to be subject to a public interest test or liaison with an external agency or company which could mean the 20 day deadline will be exceeded.

If such an instance arises where it is not possible to return the information you have requested within the 20 working day deadline you will be informed as soon as possible.

If you need to make further contact regarding your request please use the reference number above.

For further information on the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the exemptions and how your request will be dealt with you can log onto the Medway Council website at

So they've taken 55 days to tell you they are now working to the 20 day maximum.

They certainly do. Bonkers is an expert in getting bugger all out of Bexley council.

Appealing to the council is like playing chess with a pigeon. You might be a chess grand master but the pigeon will always knock all the pieces over, shit on the board and then strut around triumphantly.

So the shambolic service goes on, always onesided, if I do not pay my council tax they cannot deal with it fast enough if I receive a pcn and ignore it the consequence is amazingly fast.

But when one of their electorate (luckily I can say I did not vote for any of these less than competant people) wants to use a service they are meant to provide they really could not give a toss.

Latest response:

Further to your Freedom of Information request received on the 5 April 2012  I apologise for the delay in responding to you.  It is taking longer than we expected for the Service Department to collect and collate the information.

"Please bear with us, we are dealing with your request and aim to produce a response for you within the next 10 days.

Thank you for your understanding.

Yours sincerely

Michelle Arney

Temp. Customer Relations Compliance Officer "

So please bear with who, obviously Michelle Arney is not up to the task so why bear with her, just sack her then Medway you would be demonstrating the same sort of service you give your electorate.

Not complained at the moment (that comes later) but if I did it may get them to respond quicker, lets find out first how incompetent they can really prove they are!

So Sue Blanks is the "Interim Customer Relations Team Leader" and Michelle Arney "Temp. Customer Relations Compliance Officer"?

Do they have any permanent staff or are they all "interim" or "temp"orary?

Maybe they should look to employing some competent, permanent staff?

Perhaps they have been reading this topic have just recieved the info, after a quick look there does not seem to be much mention of black paint in Saxton street. Parking attendants are mentioned but not CEO's.

Restriction on waiting by a vehicle in a parking place
