Disgusted isn't the word!
« on: 30 April, 2011, 05:43:48 PM »
Hi I'm Jo,

I live above a shop in Bexley borough where the council park one of their little smart cars, well just found out that the camera is on my bedroom window, as well as the three flats next to me. Plus I am disabled and use the same gates to get to my property that the shop does. So this means, and I got this from the council themselves, I have 5 minutes to let my carers, and visitors in, plus get my motorcycle through the gates before a ticket is issued. It can take me anything up to 15 minutes to walk the 19 steps and the distance to the gates. and 10 minutes to get my bike through them. As you can tell I am not a happy bunny.

I will be doing everything I can do to get this camera removed, as not only are they restricting my level of care, but they can see into my bedroom!! Err don't think so.

Thanks to the boys who stand out front, warning everyone. Next time Just shout and I'll bring a cuppa down for you ;)

Hiya Jojo, and i've just spent the last ten mins checking Admin to find out why you cant log on, and here you are  :dancing:

Welcome to the forum.  :dancing:

As i said to you on the street, just half hour ago, dont bother with the council, give the Linda a call on the number i gave you  :-ev-:

It will be interesting to see how your story unfolds. I will guess there will be lots of calls to the paper regarding us being in the paper, so there should be plenty to make a follow up story.

Checkout Bexley on the forum, and your see what we have been up to over the last couple of weeks.

http://notomob.co.uk/discussions/index.php/board,25.0.html

See you around soon.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up,  totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a  ride!!"

Hi Jo. Welcome to the forum. The problems you are having are exactly the type of thing the No To Mob are against. If we can help in any way please let us know. We have media contacts that may be useful and I'm sure they would be interested in hearing your complaints.

Perhaps Pep is the best one to talk to about this since he has one or two press contacts down there.

Stay cool 8)

Hi Jojo

I think this is a privacy issue from what you describe, how do you know that the operators are not placing themselves there to look through your window. So request some footage from a time when you know it was viewing your window(you may have to visit their offices) take a blank dvd as they will probably say they have none and ask for a copy in a viewable media.
If you can prove this then it is an issue for an information commisioners office complaint.I have dabbled in a bit of cctv in my time and privacy issues need to be dealt with. It is usually done by masking the camera, most high end cameras have in built software to do this(and they do like to be waste tax money on high end kit). The problem with a mobile camera is unless it is parked in exactly the same place every time masking will not be effective.
If all else fails try a good quality laser pen.

@Tommy: That is exactly what my Dad said, sadly for the council, Daddy worked at the High Court in London as a Tipstaff Officer, oopsie, this girlly knows a few things she shouldn't do.   :schucks:  :-ev-: LOL. Yes I have a right of all footage showing my bedroom windows, and unfortunately if that camera had the software that you are on about, it didn't show on the screen in the car. Mmmm Ex was a computer engineer, they have really done a right Boo-boo with me.

Going to be contacting Linda, but in the mean time I will be waiting to see if they turn up today, you never know, if they do, my camera comes out, photo from my bedroom window, then wander over, photo of their screen in their didi car, with date/time stamp. Plus drivers number again.  :D

@ spira: go on you know you want to!!!  :dancing:

Hi Peeps,

Well I'm getting no where, so looks like I'm going the legal way, I have already requested copies of all footage from where I live, I'm going down in person to the council tomorrow to get the copies, as yes it rattled their cages, then on to a solicitor, I will keep you informed if you wish, as I think you guys do a fantastic job. Contacted Linda, and still waiting to hear from her, as is the shop below me.
