Bexley Schunt 9/7/11

What a great day today, every one had a car I believe? The car I was on with BE, Tyreman, Billie Skeggs,  Marmite and DD. The $car would not stay in one place for no more than and half hour and seemed to try and lose us a couple of times... but it failed  >:D  We also lost Billi at one point! :pmsl: The public where great today, we had water, a cold drink offered and chocolate's :)  all brought to us at one place!  8)  Which was very kind of the public  :aplude:
At the very first car I was on, B.E, Staps and Kiwi,  A guy pulls up in bus stop who I tried to assist him and advised him not park in the bus stop, and it turned out to be a manger for TFL who was not happy with the $cars as they cause problems at bus stops with the buses being able to drop off and pick up passengers safely and enforcing bus stops and then not enforcing bus stops that buses have problems with the public parking on them  :bashy:
Well that's my report off day ill let the rest at there oh and bille SPELL CHECKER :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl: :pmsl:

I'm sitting here sipping a glass of wine, with a smile on my face and a warm fuzzy feeling inside, while reflecting on a fun day out.

I liked it most when the $car was enforcing a bus stop outside a pub and all the locals piled out of the pub, the bookies opposite, the estate agents, and all the other shops along the parade, all with huge smiles on their faces and giving the thumbs up.

That was where we lost Billie too. Probably because his clock was an hour slow.

Or was it because he was looking up how to spell "He's on the move Billie!" in the dictionary because his poxy spellchecker wasn't working? :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:

But I digress. What is it about Kent people that sets them apart from where we have $chunted in other parts of London? We get a similar reception in Medway, albeit that we don't get a chance to stand around and have a chat with people because of the way their $cars operate. The point is, they seem to get it straight away.

Toots from their car horns and thumbs up aplenty must be the reason for that warm fuzzy feeling I'm experiencing. Watching a police man and woman come past in a patrol car, with one giving the thumbs up and both smiling broadly will be a memory I will treasure for a long time, particularly since the thumbs up was given to a bloke wearing a V mask, whilst sporting a mohican on his lid. ^-^

Now all I have to do before I post this is check the spelling.....

BILLIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:  :bashy:

Had two bikers in different locations stop to ask what we were up to, Their response seemed quite positive, Have passed on a little reading material, I hope they are interested enough to get involved.
One question, If a sign is upside down would this get a victim off on a technicality, after all if words were upside down you wouldn't expect drivers to read them.

This camera sign is upside down
At this location, one women clearly lost, (She had a map on her steering wheel) decided to leave the carriagway so she could read her map safely, unfortunately she chose a place designed for vehicles to pull up safely (Off the dual carriageway) A bus stop. We highlighted the $car so she drove off, This is what makes my blood boil, here was someone using common sense to ensure her own, and other road users safety, by pulling over to read a map. ker-F*&king-ching. :bashy:

Oh yes, saw BE very Red faced today after peps bike whistled.  :pmsl:  :pmsl:
A good day and nice to put a few more faces to familiar names.

Ok a little report from the day.

Tyreman had checked the pen on route, and found 2 scars locked up, so 2 scars out an about.

We started off meeting in foots cray, and as BE pulled up he said there was a scar parked up round the corner in Cray Road so MG and Spica went off to help, (without warning signs  :bashy: ).

We had a tour of the Honey Pots, with no joy, so meet up with a lost MG in Welling High St, whilst there we had info from a member of public that a scar was parked up at NSL office in Bexleyheath, so Tyreman and Billy head off to meet Spica whilst the rest of us head for the other scar.

On the way there i was infront of everyone else, and it seems i missed the scar drive past me and pull into get petrol at the esso on the Broadway  :bashy: by the time i had a call from Kiwi to say they was with said scar and i had got back to the garage, ( the road was closed so i could not just nip back) they had departed.

So i headed round to the over night pen, and found that a third scar was out an about, on pulling out from there, i see Spica and Co go past towards the daytime pen, so i follow them into the pen, and we are followed by a police van. We had a nice chat with him, and was very happy for us to carry on.  :rotfl:

We left Billie and Tyreman with the scar at the pen, and me Spica and MG have a tour of the Honeypots, again no joy, and as we are heading back into Welling we have a call to say our missing scar has returned to the pen, so off we go back to Bexleyheath.

As we get in, we see a few schunters departing with scar.

So we have all 3 operational scars taken care of.  :dancing:

Its now about 2pm, and its was the norm for them to just have 2 scars out after 2pm, so me and Kiwi are left with the last scar to see if they garage it. They dont, a new driver takes us to Nuxley Village, i have a chat with him, and we start assisting. Plenty of hoots and words of encouragement from the public. After about an hour it was the end of the drivers shift, so back to base.

Whilst waiting Billie drives in saying he got lost from the others, so we become 3  :dancing:. We went out with the scar again, we had a drive around Welling to give a couple of CEO's paper work, then we went and parked up at a quite bus stop along Wellington Avenue. Stayed with it a while then we all called it a day and went off for a KFC.

Many highlights, as BE says above. Great fun everyone giving young billie advise  :rotfl:  regarding the forum layout.
Also not sure how, only BE knows, but when you are a group of say 5 bikes, and the first bike takes the first exit at a R/B, and the rest follow, not sure how BE failed to follow the rest and went his own way  :rotfl:  :rotfl:

And another little highlight was seein BE go from a shade of British pale, to bright RED  in seconds, (sorry, it had to be done  :rotfl:  :rotfl: )

But does seem when we are out, they will not enforce high profile/busy locations, wonder why  :rotfl:

Hi all, it was our first schunt out of the medway towns, and it was great.  Not only did all cars get their assistance, the public were made aware of the scars.... WE GOT FED AND WATERED!!!! It was nice to be able to have time to explain to the public what its all about rather than quickly shoving a peice of paper in their face to read whilst we ride off fast.  There was a point in the day when the driver tried to loose us but 3 out of 4 kept up....lol.  Any future Bexley schunt dont forget our invite.  Thanks all for a good day and thanks to the Bexley public for their support.  Also i do believe a Barber shop will be adding us to face book.... so you never know those of you with hair might get a disscount...lol

P.S. This has been done with out spell check.... so if wrong BLAME BILLIE!!!! lol

Hi guys, that was a great schunt yesterday,  :)  Good to be out with you all.
There's not much to add really, except, Stapps riding and assisting the $car was excellent yesterday, everytime I looked round, he was right there! :aplude:

Spica made me laugh as i could hear him saying "weeeee" every time we went over a ramp, :rotfl:
God! theres loads of those ramps in Bexley W:T:F:
On the way home near Strood Spica noticed a broken down rider, (a lady,) she had just come off her bike, but she was fine, just a little shook up, and the bike wouldn't start, so we manage to get it going and then assisted her to her house, just to make sure she got home ok

THE VID below is very short, as i didnt take to much footage of yesterday

Stapps

I take it you still haven't told him about the cock up with his vest MG? You promised you would say something yesterday. No wonder Kilswitch didn't hand it over when Staps went round to visit on Friday.

I take it also that you couldn't disguise the hole that was left when you cut out the extra P then?

Fortunately I don't think anyone else knows, so let's just keep this between the two of us. ;)

The picture in this post of a TSRGD 2002 Repeater Sign to Diagram 878 is NOT compliant signage for Parking Enforcement. This sign can only be placed after a primary sign to diagram 877 stating for example Traffic Enforcement. Traffic is NOT Static Parking. These signs are only compliant for Moving Traffic Contraventions.
