"While it is essential that there is national consistency in traffic sign design, to ensure motorists and other road users understand the messages that signs provide, the current level of prescription that the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD) require can be a barrier to local authorities working effectively."

 :idea: Does this mean that they can put up whatever signs they like so that their Enforcement Effectiveness improves?

It's what they've been working towards, 100% PCNs issued with no compliance.   :bashy:

Didn't see this but I posted another thread with a link to an article.  I was wondering exactly what it meant.

No doubt WCC's legal department are now rewording signs into legal speak unintelligible to anyone but a High Court judge in the interests of 100% penalties without compliance. These will be reproduced on signs the size of a postage stamp and hidden carefully amongst street furniture  :bashy:
