http://www3.westminster.gov.uk/cttee/co ... fm?c_id=96 (http://www3.westminster.gov.uk/cttee/committee/cttee.cfm?c_id=96)

It starts 7.00pm at City Hall but we would like your thoughts on a possible ride in prior to about 30 of us attending the meeting to let them know "WE ARE WATCHING YOU"

A blockade of WCC is out... sadly they have hired lackeys to stop us from doing that...

but there is no law saying we all can't park up out back and mull around on foot...

What's it all about? Is  there an agenda anywhere? I don't see any of our favourite friends on the list.

I suspect presence is enough to remind them of why we are there.

This is definitely on guys. The MIB have agreed to see us round town on ride outs before and after the meeting, and the cops are arranging parking etc when we get to Wastemonster's lair for the meeting.

Anyone else up for it?

And don't forget.

Bring your V masks. ;D

We're looking at a 5.30 - 6.00pm meet at the Batcave, followed by a short ride round town to City Hall where we will be making our presence felt (V masks essential please) and then another, longer ride round town taking in the nice touristy bits where we can bring as much attention to ourselves as possible.  Hence the need for numbers.

We are liaising with the cops and MIB at the moment, and once things are finalised I'll get back to you all.

Oh, and did I mention you should bring your mask? ;)

At the next meeting in January we will report to the forum on the parking policy review, motorcycles in bus lanes, and CCTV enforcement.

Well, I arrived for the meeting but missed the ride out (the XR kettles up on slow rides anyway). A nice display outside in V masks with the "We are watching you" banner for the press. Then there was a little 'discussion' about their no cameras rule  :D  We challenged them to refer to the legislation that prevented us from filming a public meeting in a public building. Obviously, this was not forthcoming. Some cameras were handed in but a plethora got through. The minders objected to me using mine, so we had an interesting confrontation in the hallway on video where some of them got quite insulting and BE called the police. Don't think they came but security backed off. I then simply walked back in and continued to film.  Sadly, due to this I missed some of the juicy bits. The committee seemed pretty unaware of the developments re the EU commission (no doubt, we can correct that  :-ev-: ), so they got the usual spin. One classic reply was of the gist that as the EU procurement laws were changing so much, they couldn't be expected to keep up! A few awkward questions were asked of Rowley. He didn't look to comfortable judging by the way his feet were fidgeting throughout. Again, all the usual bullshit.

Will check the footage in due course for any gems. I hope the sound is OK as I used the internal mic.

Yes.

I was rather amused when Rowley said words to the effect trhat although the regulations said that contracts should be for no more that four years, he was right to award this one for five to allow the contractor to make a profit. Oh, and the EU shouldn't meddle. He reckoned that the EU Commissioners had been spinning the situation...

And he got very cross with Paul Demouldenburg for correctly re-stating the case against Westminster...

Mr Large kept saying that he didn't agree with the Commissioners' judgement and therefore there hadn't been any wrongdoing etc etc. Apparently, because they had agreed to comply with the regulations that were in place when they had been found out they were just reacting to the evolving law.

As Esinem says, the usual spin.

These people acted out of ignorance and need retraining rather than retribution. It was not their fault that they were not prepared for what happened. It was the fault of their employers.
