Post by: Pat Pending on 12 February, 2011, 03:57:46 PM
Congratulations to Islington Borough Council who today Popped their $Chunting Cherry with both $cars having the benefit of our dedicated team of $chunters.  :pmsl: Well done IBC and may we say we hope you will be very happy with our services, we can of course supply references from two previous Councils that regularly enjoy our team of experienced assister's. So please just sit back and enjoy the ride as we sure as hell will.  :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

Why do I get the feeling that I'm being persecuted? :(  Several $chunters followed and attended the $cars while they were outside Islington's nick in Tolpuddle Lane, yet it wasn't till I turned up that the coppers started asking questions. Have I got something about me that says "Potential collar feeling time"?

I had a definite sense of deja vu when I saw this copper walking towards me asking if she could have a word, because that was almost exactly what happened to me and Chalky all those months ago when Chalky and me were interviewed by police the first time we [s:3ecx6ygr]chased[/s:3ecx6ygr] escorted a $car back to the O St pen.

So I patiently explained what was going on to the very nice lady copper and offered to meet the gentlemen in the vehicle to enlighten them on why their car was being followed by nutters in masks.

After a brief exchange between cops and operators I was duly invited to approach the car. Now I could have kept my mask on (the nice police ladies didn't insist that I took it off while talking to them), but since I didn't want to alarm the $car operators any more than I had to I decided to take it off.

After explaining to the operators that we merely wanted to help them do their job by making them more visible to motorists, thereby ensuring public safety by encouraging drivers not to commit offences, there were lots of smiles and both operators offered their hands for me to shake, which I gladly did because they had obviously accepted my apologies for any distress they may have felt because of earlier $chunting activities.

I also gave assurances that if they felt in any way harassed in the future, they should please bring it to the attention of any $chunter and we will respect their wishes. I would therefore respectfully ask all $chunters to bear this in mind if approached by any Islington crews.

While the exchange between me and the operators was going on, a woman passer by appeared, flashed a press card at the policewomen and asked what was going on. She was told that she had to wait while I sorted things out with the operators, which she duly did. So after I finished talking with the operators and had given my details to the police AGAIN, :bashy: :bashy: I started talking to the journo. I gave her a quick rundown on our operations and handed her my copy of the West End Extra which she kept.

While I was standing talking to her I noticed that the $car had made ready to move, so I made my apologies to the journo and made it clear to the operators that I had to get all my gear on and get on my bike which was across the road about 75 yards away.

Being used to Wastemonster tactics I knew that there was no way I could do all this in time to get on their tail, so I waved to BH who had been waiting in the wings across the road to take up [s:3ecx6ygr]the pursuit[/s:3ecx6ygr] escort duties.

I crossed the road to get to my bike and frenziedly put on my gear in the hope that I could catch up with BH and the $car. Turns out though that I needn't have bothered because after pulling away like a bat out of hell, the $car was waiting on the other side of the road for me to catch up with him. :aplude:

Top blokes the Islington guys. ;D Let's see if that attitude changes now that NSL know we are broadening our horizons.

WE ARE WATCHING YOU

Stay cool 8)

Great read that BE :)   Made me smile a few times reading that ! :D

At least these crews seem more willing to communicate with us, for now anyway... lets see if that changes with nsl's orders and the proverbial poo rolling in their direction.

It surprises me that they have not been briefed as NSL know the score by now.

@Pat True about NSL but they don`t talk enough as with KPI`s and job cuts, one NSL Borough Manager doesn`t give a feck about his competitor next door. Oh well :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing:

With only 2 $cars it would be easy to park up somewhere else at another  council depot to try to thwart us.
