Richmond CC meeting - 21st July 7.30pm at York House

I will be attending the meeting since it is on this night the decision will be made as to whether the council will follow their legal advice and only pay monies back to those who ask for it, or whether they do the correct thing (in my opinion) and proactively return money they have unlawfully obtained/retained.

At the moment Richmond CC are maintaining that they are under no obligation to follow the proactive route and have issued a press release to that effect. I believe this is a good opportunity to put them in the spotlight and under considerable pressure by going there on the night, and standing outside council offices behind the WE ARE WATCHING YOU banner in our masks. Then we can (hopefully) go and pack the public gallery with NoToMob hi viz vests (no masks) and watch in a dignified and respectful manner.

So does anyone care to join me?

Oh, and just for you Kill Switch, we are going to invite members of the press to take photos and give interviews. You, or indeed anyone could even ask councillors some questions if you felt the need (Nigel will fill you in on this aspect I'm sure).

I am bumping this as a respectful reminder for you to try to make it to Richmond next Thursday if you can.

As an added incentive may I remind you that 21st July is the first anniversary of $chunting and I am hoping that we will be presented with the best birthday present we could hope for if Richmond CC do the right thing and vote to pro-actively return monies illegally obtained.

I would really love to add as much pressure on the sitting councillors as possible by filling the public gallery with as many green NoToMob vests as we can. Nigel has very generously given us some of the credit for his hard work and in my opinion it is only right that we attend to lend him our support.

I am proposing to meet with anyone north of the water at The Ace Cafe from 5.00pm onwards, leaving at around 6.15pm to meet with anyone coming from south of the river at a venue to be arranged (perhaps the same place as last time?). From there we will ride en masse to the Town Hall where we will have our usual "WE ARE WATCHING YOU" photo op, prior to removing our masks and entering the meeting hall.
