More disgusting goings on at the VCA:

NSL frequently swap their vehicles between areas. These vehicles are only certificated for lawful use in the enforcement area where they are originally certificated - sorry lettered!

However they seem to be getting away with this by informing the VCA by email. The VCA have been accepting what they are told without any checks being made and then rubber stamping their certification.

The above string of emails is very informative. There are several references to VRN: HJ09 MGE This vehicle was given approval for temporary replacement use in Lambeth having come from Enfield. This was granted (rubber stamped) commencing 9th August 2011.

However:
1.   Please can you confirm how long CCTV vehicle HJO9 MGE has been in operation? (In Lambeth)

The Smart Car mentioned above has been in operation from 24 February 2011.

2.   Please can you also confirm how many PCNs this vehicle has issued since being in operation?

I can confirm from 24 February – 1 March 2011 82 Penalty Charge Notices have been issued by this vehicle.

See:

The vehicle HJO9 MGE is variously described as being a Citroen Nemo Van a Citroen Memo Van & a "Smart Car." A VRN check reveals that it is a van. Perhaps NSL have been swapping VRN's as well. I would not put anything past them.
