Inside Wood Lane/Depot Road Pigpen - 3/1/12 about 4.30pm
« on: 10 January, 2012, 06:59:38 PM »
Was working last Tuesday 3rd Jan in the BBC White City building. Imagine my surprise to notice the Wood Lane/Depot Road pigpen out of the canteen window!  :rotfl: :-ev-:
I persuaded my mate to get a long lens picture of the compound. Unfortunately, as it was 4.30, it had already gone dark and this was about the best we could get at the end of the lens. I believe the 3 x iQs and two Corsa vans (in the top right of the pound) are Westminster's but unfortunately we couldn't get "close" enough to identify them 100%.  ::)))
What is clearly visible though are the 5 x Ealing marked Renault vans, similar to the ones that Hackney used to use before they got their new iQs! They don't look like they've moved for a while - I wonder what their status is or if they're being charged for?  :o W:T:F:
Big Thanks to Tom for taking the picture! :aplude: :aplude:

Ps I've had to reduce the resolution to post the pic on here - but I have the original which is about 6MB I believe.

Excellent work Boyo. This looks like something out of George Orwells 1984

There was also a film made from the book.

Here is the plot:

In a dystopian 1984, Winston Smith (John Hurt) endures a squalid existence in the totalitarian superstate of Oceania under the constant surveillance of the Thought Police. The story takes place in London, the capital city of the territory of Airstrip One (formerly Britain).

Winston works in a small office cubicle at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history in accordance with the dictates of the Party and its (probably mythical) supreme figurehead, Big Brother (Bob Flag).

It is actually NSL's Depot and vehicle pound:

Our vehicle pound is located at:

NSL Ltd
Depot Road (off Wood Lane)
White City
London W12 7RP
Tel: 0207 527 1381

Out of hours contact numbers: 020 7527 7624 or 020 8735 4481

Congestion Charging Vehicle Storage Car Pound Depot Road Off Wood Lane White City London W12 7RP. Tel: 0870 850 1452.

What are the open ended portacabins in the background for? Answers on a postcard please. I am sure that you wags will come up with some interesting suggestions.

Nice one Boyo the IQs look like they are the Moving Traffic cars. May be worth remembering for next $chunt
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up,  totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a  ride!!"

I think it's also where they put the vehicles seized for having no VED paid, as NSL have the contract for that from DVLA.
