Exhaust Linkpipe Required
« on: 08 November, 2012, 04:48:49 PM »
Hi All,

I need an exhaust linkpipe for a CBR900 RRY 2000, as my one, or part of my one is on the A40 somewhere.  Have made many many phone calls but can't get the correct one, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Attached is an image of what is available from Honda, the part I need is on the left listed as number 19.

Cheers
KS

Found an 18 on the drawing, I can see a lambda on the 19 but can you make that one do.

I believe the seller found that item on the A40.

Yeah, it's definitely the 19 I need, as that also has the opening for the exhaust sensor that my bike has

Can't help with original parts, but there are some localish companies which might be able to help and some a bit further away. Always worth asking, might be no more pricy than OE especially if you can get the bike to them.

I've heard a lot of good things about PHWF - http://phwfabrications.com/index.htm who I believe are in the Grays area.

Gazelle are well known but up in Birmingham - http://www.gazbike.demon.co.uk/index.htm

I don't know anything about this outfit but again they are reasonably local for getting the bike to - http://www.campbellcustom.co.uk/

Just replicating a section of standard exhaust shouldn't be too difficult or pricy with any of them I'd hope.

Don't know if you tried David Silver Spares mate? They're supposed to be specialists for "classic and modern Hondas - many no longer available from Honda". They usually have an ad in M(ore) C(omic) N(onsense) every week.
Never used them myself or can't vouch for them but the address is : www.davidsilverspares.co.uk and the phone number's 01728 833020
Hope you get it sorted

@Boyo

Thanks for that, unfortunatey they want £555 which is the price for a new part.

I'll keep looking for a second hand one, or end up going down the road of NEALR's suggestions.

I am reliably told that you could use a no. 18 part and simply bypass the sensor thingy by some clever re-connection of the wiring.

Then again, I could be talking fluent Clanger. ??? ??? ???

I don't think it's a sensor, I rekon its an igniter for his Afterburner.
I'm not helping am I?
OK I will go away in short sharp jerky movements. ;D

Cheaper to have one made. there is a place somewhere around chelsfield in kent that makes bike exhausts.
