i just thought id share this little story,its about 2 years old now but sure it still goes on.
I was going to visit the dentist in Chatterton road ,i was half an hour early so rather than buy a ticket to park i just sat in the car in a space to waste some time. whilst i was there i noticed a ..sorry parking warden issuing a ticket,i watched this place the ticket on the windscreen then he proceeded to take pictures of the vehicle.
all pretty normal until he looked around and took the ticket off and put it in his pocket,my jaw dropped to the floor and i believe what i was seeing,the walked away down the high street,i got out of the car and some people noticed that i had also seen this,one guy came to me and said "did you see that " i said yes,he said they do it so that the owner gets a higher fine for unpaid fine,they do it all the time.it would obviously be unpaid because the owner would never know a ticket was issued yet the would still have photographic evidence.
i was ready to go and have serious words with this but we decided it would be better to phone the local rag (news shopper) and wait for the owner to return and give our details so we could take this to court and screw the bastards.
I then noticed that staff in a hairdressers had also seen this.i went into the shop and suggested we should take it to court but unfortunately one of the had already got onto the phone and was ranting to the council and apparently the council said there has been no ticket issued as it would show on their system.
so the girl phoning the council gave them the heads up and they wormed their way out of it which i was gutted about.nether the less i got straight onto the phone to the news shopper and explained what had happened.i know if it made the press at the time but i did notice a post in this section of the forum () about an article in the but its dated this year. This has been going on for a long time before.
so how your councils operate with regards to parking.
i also had a parking ticket in east street ,i had a ticket but it fell off the windscreen because the adhesive was rubbish,i challenged this and had to go to London tribunal which by the way cost around £2 for 15 minutes at the time to park near it..joke eh.
i won in the end and from my workings out it cosy me about £150 in total just to be let off,and they even had the to send me a letter to say we are letting you off this time but let it be a lesson to you and make sure you have a ticket in future on display (or words to that effect). dirty &%&%$$$$**%^$&$&$%`s
