Residents in Walthamstow have been amused by a spelling error scrawled across the road

Contractors could face some tough questioning this week after an embarrassing spelling mistake was scrawled across a road.

In an attempt to tell drivers not to block a barrier in Brookscroft Road, Walthamstow, a warning was painted in huge white letters.

The words ‘No Parknig’ have been painted onto the tarmac, much to the amusement of local residents.

The gate blocks access onto Kitchener Road but a previous warning has been so worn it was barely visible.

Waltham Forest council has been asked to comment.

It's shocking how far standards have slipped over the years.

Appealing to the council is like playing chess with a pigeon. You might be a chess grand master but the pigeon will always knock all the pieces over, shit on the board and then strut around triumphantly.
