Controvercial Speed Limit Signs
« on: 21 December, 2014, 02:14:52 PM »
This appeared on the letters page of my local paper last week. I haven't checked it out myself yet, but will do next time I pop into Sutton. Definitely looks suspicious though.

It may be that a 20MPH zone has been imposed even further afield than you expect.

If this is the case then the council doesn't even need to install the 20MPH repeater signs, so long as there are traffic calming measures (e.g. speed bumps) at least every 100 metres...

The Council doesn't get the money from speeding offences it goes to HM Treasury, after the cost of running the cameras has been deducted.
