Harrogate Sunday and evening parking charges proposed

There is to be a public consultation of the charges

Motorists will be charged to park in Harrogate during Sundays and evenings, under plans put forward by North Yorkshire County Council.

The authority wants to charge for on-street parking on Sundays and evenings after 18:00. It was previously free.

Councillor Don Mackenzie said the charges were about "better management" of spaces and not about raising revenue.

There is to be a public consultation about the move.

Proposed charges are a £2 flat fee after 18:00 and Sunday parking at normal daily rates. The maximum charge, for three hours on-street parking, is £4.20?

The proposals are to be discussed by the council's Harrogate area committee on Wednesday.

NOT ABOUT RAISING REVENUE!   Hahaha yeah we all believe that shite.......  NOT!!!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Beer in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up,  totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a  ride!!"
