Council Parking Surplus

Councils' surplus in the spotlight again

Note the LGA's spokeswoman's attempted spin trying to con us into believing that the surplus is all used to mend potholes and provide subsidised transport for the aged and infirm.

"The Local Government Association (LGA) insisted councils did not make a profit from parking."

FFS!!!!!!!

In what world is £756m NOT a profit?

For ease of reference you can find the annual figures for all London boroughs published here.

http://www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/services/parking-services/parking-and-traffic/parking-information-professionals/information

I will see if I can find a link to the national figures.

Surely I was not alone in seeing the report on BBC London part of Breakfast News about Brent traffic warthogs not getting tickets on their cars because of leaving a name and number on the dash this morning?

I canot find a link to it unfortunately but there was a statement from the Brent manager analogising for this unfortunate incident! Like it was a one off...

Not really SB, the news programmes are only available for about 24 hours usually. If I had recorded it on the correct device it could have been uploaded to youtube.
