Need help with ticket please
« on: 28 March, 2018, 09:41:12 AM »
I'm new here. Help. Got a ticket for incorrectly entering a number plate. Driver made several attempts bit when the ticket was issued and payment taken the driver noticed only 4 digits had been accepted by the machine. Parking fee of £4.00 was.paid for 12hrs parking. Only used 8 or so. They have sustained no loss, where do I stand on this? I wasn't the driver but I am the reg. keeper.
Thanks

Firstly, was this a council or private ticket?

Do not reveal who was driving at this stage.

In case you are wondering what happened, I moved the above two posts to their own thread as I felt this matter didn't belong on the thread it had been put on.

Unfortunately, as the Registered Keeper, you are liable for Parking Penalties under Traffic Management Act 2004 for Council issued tickets or Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 for Private Land.
As you can no doubt imagine, there are different ways of dealing with them depending on who issued them.
Was it Council issued or a Private Company? Did you get a ticket stuck to your windscreen or did it arrive through the post?
Wether or not they "sustained no loss" is irrelevant.
