Anger at parking tickets

"Residents who were forced to move their vehicles out of a covered parking area to avoid them being flooded have reacted with anger after being given parking tickets."   Don't the Council understand the vehicles were moved to AVOID them being flooded!

A spokeswoman for Northumberland County Council said: “If a motorist can provide clear independent evidence that the vehicle was flooded and not movable, we will consider an appeal.   What is the difference.  A car that is flooded and moved is o.k. but one that isn't flooded is not.

“People that moved onto a clearly marked no parking area near Ropery Court contravened the traffic order and will be dealt with normally.

“The importance of enforcing on-street parking restrictions and keeping the roads safe is heightened when weather conditions are poor, restrictions cannot be waived.”
This has nothing whatsoever to do with keeping any roads safe.  It's all about the money.
