Bexley's No Replies to Correspondence.
« on: 19 May, 2011, 09:12:09 AM »
I have now sent three emails to Bexley. One to Councillor Craske one to The Parking Manager Greg Tippett and the final one to The Chief Exec. Will Tuckley. So far I received no response save for a seven word response from Cllr. Craske "Your allegations against me are 100% false."
I now find the following illuminating statement on Bexley's web site:

At the London Borough of Bexley we’re committed to putting you first, but we need your help to ensure we do that. We want you to tell us how we are performing, so we can recognise staff who deliver excellent customer service and, most importantly, put things right when they’ve gone wrong.

When things go wrong we will work quickly and effectively to resolve them, learning any lessons in the process.

We promise to:
? Take feedback seriously.
? Use your comments to help
us improve our services.
? Investigate complaints
thoroughly and fairly.

It appears that all of the above information is a sham.

Statutory complaints.
Certain areas of the Council have statutory rules they must follow when dealing with complaints.
Statutory complaints processes will be followed when complaints are made about the following services.
Social Care, Schools, Planning, Parking.

I have made a complaint regarding the Parking Department. I have not even been provided with an acknowledgment. I will now be lodging a formal complaint.

When I wrote to Ealing's Parking Department I heard nothing. Not even an acknowledgement.

But, when I followed it up through the "WhatDoTheyKnow" website, I got an immediate acknowledgement plus a fuller (placatingly misleading, of course) response within a week...

I'm still following up on that one.

If you enter Bexley council's 'Contact Centre' you will be confronted by a large poster which says that if you use their Contact Us webform you will get an answer within two days and if you email or write you will get an answer within five days. This promise was sent to every house in the borough (as part of the Bexley Magazine) with much fanfare that it was part of their new 'Listening to you' slogan about two years ago.

As you have said, everything about Bexley council is a sham.

I made a telephone call to Bexley's Chief Executives office asking why I had not received a reply to my mail to Will Tuckley. The following reply came:
Dear Mr Wise,

Further to our telephone conversation I confirm receipt of your email and apologise that this does not appear to have reached the Chief Executive.

The points raised in your email will be looked into and you will receive a full response shortly.

Kind regards,

Elaine

I await this response with baited breath.
